As far back as I can remember, I have always suffered from very frizzy and damaged hair. I used to spend hundreds of pounds on different hair products and treatments but still had hair that looked and felt incredibly unhealthy. I never once doubted the quality of the products I was using as they were recommended to me by my trusted hairdressers.
Most brands out there that claimed to be completely natural still had at least a handful of harmful ingredients in their products.
I was not surprised that these so-called ‘natural’ products still left my hair feeling extremely dry and unhealthy.
In recent years, there has been growing awareness of the toxic chemicals found in commercial personal and homecare products as well as the side effects to one’s health and wellbeing that comes from prolonged use of these products. Ingredients like Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Ethanolamines, Parabens, Formaldehyde releasing Preservatives (Diazolidinyl urea, Inidazolidinyl urea, DMDM hydantoin) and others are present in even the most expensive hair products.
My quest proved to be harder than I thought it would be. During the last couple of years, I have been trying without success to find a better alternative to chemically-laden products.
I researched some of these names which lead to a personal discovery of the extent of damage these toxic chemicals were having on my hair. I had no illusions in my mind over the chemical’s ability to make my hair nice and shiny.
On the contrary,I realized that if I carried on using these products it could even cause cancer in the long run. I then set out to find chemical-free Shampoo & Conditioner.
After the loss of my mum, I was struggling to recover and decided a Yoga retreat would be a good idea. I went to the very remote and beautiful island of Koh Phangan in southern Thailand.
While I was there, I visited a small organic shop which had quite a lot of ‘natural’ products. I checked the labels of a few shampoos but was disappointed to see the harmful chemicals listed.
I did not want to believe that I would be unable to find chemical-free shampoo on this remote island so I asked the shop assistant to help.
I was very excited to see her going to the back of the shop to bring me a bottle of Conscious Living Shampoo. As always, I checked the label but this time did not see any harmful chemicals. I knew I had to try it!

“This is where I first discovered these amazing products!”
As soon as I used the 100% chemical-free and probiotic shampoo, I knew I had discovered something revolutionary.
It was different from all the products I have tried before and it was exactly what it claimed to be- completely natural! I did not have any conditioner with me and was pleasantly surprised that my hair felt soft and healthy even after using just shampoo.
Since that day of trying Conscious Living, I could not even think about the possibility of switching back to chemically-laden shampoos one can get over the counter or from hair salons. I contacted the manufacturer and ordered a big box of shampoo, conditioner, dish soap, laundry soap, and all-in-one cleaner to last me a while.
Back home, all my friends who tried Conscious Living products fell in love with them the same way I did.
All the feedback was incredibly positive. Every single person asked for more and was ready to pay whatever it costs. That is how I have developed an idea to import and distribute these amazing products in Europe.
Conscious Living products are currently being sold online via third party website like AMAZON UK, our own website and other social media platform.
We are also looking for health-conscious retailers who would be interested to sell our products in their shops or even set up a refill station which would help to reduce plastic waste and save our planet.
If you are interested to retail our products anywhere in Europe, feel free to get in touch!
